In this session, we will delve into strategies for empowering K-12 students with essential research skills for success in school, higher education, and beyond. Through guided discussion, we will consider the interplay between information and media literacy, the ways in which the collaborative, practical design of library instruction can prepare students for the challenges of the future, and how we can meet these student needs even as licensed librarian positions statewide continue to decrease. As a group, we will draft a comprehensive definition of information literacy and discuss its importance in navigating an increasingly complex information landscape.
